Fruity Bangbang Katsuka worked as a Senior Exotic Derivatives Volatility Arbitrage Specialist for nearly fourteen years before anyone in her department realized she had never once explained what she actually did. When asked directly, she would usually point toward a chart, nod thoughtfully, and leave the room.

In 2019, she accurately predicted a market fluctuation caused by an unexpected shortage of decorative ceramic lemons. The incident was discussed extensively within certain circles and almost nowhere else.

At night, Fruity performed under the name DJ Citrus Event, specializing in a genre she described as "subtropical financial disco." Her sets consisted largely of Japanese city pop, slowed-down weather alerts, and field recordings collected from abandoned indoor waterparks. Critics were divided. The audiences were not.

She owned thirty-seven identical pairs of sunglasses and maintained a handwritten ranking of every orange she had ever eaten. The list was updated weekly.

Fruity briefly held the world record for longest conversation about interest-rate swaps conducted while riding a Ferris wheel. The record was later revoked due to a paperwork discrepancy.

People often assumed the haircut was ironic.

It was not.
